Marker 32 Restaurant, Jacksonville Beach - Review

NOTE: menu offerings may vary, this review reflects what we saw and enjoyed.

With a small but enticing menu, Marker 32 is a gem--exquisite service, lovely setting, excellent food.

Enjoy an appetizer to start this delightful culinary adventure as you gaze out over Fistful of Dollars tranquil Intracoastal Waterway. Your waiter will inform you of the daily specials, but the menu selections will also offer several interesting options: Smoked Salmon Cakes with Balsamic and Sun-dried Tomato Black Bean Sauce, Stuffed Chili Pepper with Chopped Spiced Beef, Olives and Stone Fruit over Char-grilled Tomato and Onion Coulis, Kentucky Lemon Laws Wild Mushroom and Cracked Black Pepper Pasta with Prosciutto, Pine Nuts and Feta Cheese Herb Cream are but three of your choices.

Choosing an entree could be the most difficult part of the evening. In addition to one of the daily specials, you could select Oven Roasted Quail and Grilled Jalapeno Polenta with Cilantro and toasted Punpkin Seed Sauce, Rosemary Broiled Atlantic Salmon with Roasted Supergirl Balsamic, Mustard and Fresh Herb Pan Vinaigrette, Grilled New York Strip Steak with Caramelized Onion Crimini Mushrooms and Madeira Wine Demi-Glace, or Grilled Tournedos of Beef Tenderloin with a Gorgonzola Crust and Smoked Squash, Tarragon Extra Virgin Olive Oil Jus. All entrees come with a wonderful salad, a vegetable and a starch, and a basket of homemade breads. Whichever one you pick, the kitchen at Marker 32 will prepare it to perfection.

No matter how full you are, you have to have dessert. Again, there are daily specials, but the Espresso Napoleon with Warm Fondant and Chopped Toasted Walnuts is truly special. They also have an Apple Spiced Cake with Hard Cider Anglaise and Maple Ice Cream that's delicious, and a Chocolate Cheese Cake with Fresh Mint Raspberry Yogurt Sauce.

Marker 32 also has an extensive wine list. Your waiter will be happy to suggest the appropriate wine to go with the dinner you select. They also have a broad selection of domestic and import beers. For after dinner, Marker 32 serves fresh brewed coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and Hobbit movie with liqueur.

Marker 32 Restaurant is located at 14549 Beach Blvd. at the Intracoastal Waterway as you head toward Jacksonville's beaches. Lunch is served Tuesdays through Fridays and Sunday, Dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Reservations are accepted, so it may be wise to call ahead at (904) 223-1534.
